Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is in Holland Park which is in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is a pretty area with lots of good shops and restaurants. Within easy walking distance are shopping destinations located at High Street Kensington, Notting Hill, Portobello Market and Westfield.
We are 2 minutes walk from Holland Park Underground Station which is on the Central Line. The Central Line will take you directly to Stratford Station (which is the station stop for the Olympic Stadium). The journey to the Olympic Park is less than 30 minutes by tube. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/standard-tube-map.pdf
The area is named for the park (Holland Park) which is a public open space covering 22 hectares. The park has large areas of woodland abundant with wildlife. Holland Park provides facilities for tennis, football, golf practice nets, cricket practice nets and netball. http://www.rbkc.gov.uk/leisureandlibraries/parksandgardens/yourlocalpark/hollandpark.aspx

Holland Park

During July and August Holland Park Opera perform in the park http://www.operahollandpark.com/

It is a 10 minute walk to Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park where it is lovely to swim in the Serpentine.

Swimming in the Serpentine

There are 2 stables which organise rides in Kensington Gardens – Hyde Park Stables (https://www.hydeparkstables.com/) and Ross Nye Stables (http://www.rossnyestables.co.uk/).

At the end of our road is Kensington Leisure centre which has a public pool, squash courts and a gym.

Westway Sports Centre is a 5 minute walk away. Here there are indoor tennis courts and a climbing wall.

All the museums at South Kensington (the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert museum) are easy to get to. It is a pleasant cycle and takes about 10 minutes. We only have 2 bikes but it is easy to hire bike all over London

The West End and the theatre district is 5 stops on the underground and takes about 10 minutes.
Our house has a roof terrace which is lovely to sit out on in the evenings and we have keys to a private shared garden around the corner
