Our home

This really is one of the best ways to experience English country living, with log fires, country views from all the windows and patio, walks and days spent floating around on the river. Not forgetting the famous Suffolk/ Norfolk coastline under thirty minutes from the cottage.

Inside you will find a traditional wood burner and original fireplace that dominates the lounge, a stunning country kitchen with all that you could possibly need and dining with almost uninterrupted panoramic views of the countryside.

Also on the ground floor is a single bedroom (please note we also have two single fold open beds that can be placed in any of the larger upstairs rooms, plus one travel cot, making availability for two extra guests) garden room (extra dining space), utility room and cloakroom
Upstairs is the master king sized bedroom, two large double rooms and an impressive bathroom (rated 5 star by Visit England) with both a circular central shower, separate bath with a sky light window above (to take in the stars) and his and hers circular sinks.

There are extensive views across the fields from every window. Watch out for the pheasant, partridges and muntjac deers that regularly strut across the gardens, the barn owl that flys overhead in the evening, and the Shetland ponies who always like to trot over and say hello (Albert and George).

Outside is a patio for you to kick back and take in the country air with a glass of wine, and of course we have provided you with a BBQ for those Summer evenings. In the winter, a roaring log fire will keep you warm and cosy.

There is an excellent childrens playground in the field opposite to keep the kids entertained. The cottage itself contains a wide range of entertainment for all ages. This includes widescreen TV, full Sky package (including movies and sport), board games, a range of DVD's for adults and children, a wide range of childrens toys and a playstation 2 together with games for the older kids. Nearby why not pay a visit to Bewilderwood?

When time allows I love to visit new destinations with my wife for some time to relax, or just for a family break with parents/sister etc. We would love to visit sunny destiantions where we can sunbathe and swim in the sea, and also like to ski with the family, but feel free to email us, we like to try new places so we are always open to all suggestions.

Your neighbourhood

Glebe Cottage makes an ideal base to explore Norfolk and North Suffolk.

You are ideally placed to visit the stunning Norfolk Broads (Britain’s largest protected wetlands). The nearest is just a 6 minute drive from Glebe Cottage.

The historic city of Norwich is just under a 15 minute drive from Glebe Cottage with it’s restaurants, galleries, exhibitions and of course it’s many shops all dominated by the town park and the Cathedral. Beautiful!

East Anglia’s finest beaches are within easy reach, including Cromer and Southwold.

There is a childs playground is located just a couple of moments away from the cottage, next to the village hall and backing on to fields.

There is a carp fishing available at a lake in the village for a charge (5 minute walk).

Caldecott Hall Golf Club is 15 - 20 minutes drive away, and horse-riding is nearby.
