Our home

This is our beach house which we have owned for over 15 years and use several weeks a year - not just in the summer but whenever we can get away from London. [Our London house is very central and might also be available.] It is comfortable and well suited to family living having 2 quite separate living rooms as well as a large (and recently reequipped) kitchen/dining room. There are 4 double bedrooms as well as 2 full bathrooms and an en suite shower room to the downstairs bedroom.

Outside there is a good sized terrace and a pleasant 3/4 acre garden with views towards the golf course. There is an outdoor trampoline and (usually!) a pool table in the [large] garden room. There is a shed full of old bikes and surfing stuff and plenty of golfing gear-all lost balls to be replaced, please!

Who we are

  1. My wife and I are in our mid 50s and we have two children in their early 20s. We have lived abroad (in Melbourne and Singapore) and we enjoy travelling whenever we can. My wife prefers the sun but I just like to travel almost anywhere. We like to get away to somewhere warm in Europe in the summer, particularly the Algarve, Tuscany or an island.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our house is mid way between Rock and Trebetherick on the North Cornwall coast. Both are well known upmarket beach destinations on the north coast of Cornwall. For better or worse this is where the Royal Princes have spent part of their vacations the last few years! Rock is popular because it is on an estuary with wonderful beaches, two excellent golf courses and good sailing/water skiing - and, at last, a decent pub.

On the other side of the estuary is Padstow which is home to the nationally renowned Seafood Restaurant of Rick Stein. We are also close to Polzeath, one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall. The north coast of Cornwall provides excellent walks with fabulous views.
