Our home

Our home is comfortable, clean, and spacious. It has a good sized kitchen with dinning area. A large lounge and open stairs leading to main bathroom and 3 double bedrooms - one master bedroom with double bed, one single cabin bed (for children under 10) and 1 room that is used as a therapy room, but has a foldout small double sofa bed in it. The garden is a generous size and there is a decking area outside the back door which leads down to the garden. The house is an end of terrace house with a driveway big enough for 2 cars. We are told that our home has a lovely, welcoming and relaxed feel to it.

Newquay is a popular tourist destination for surfers and families alike, with surf hire facilities in the town and a great selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants to cater for your everyday needs. Newquay is also an excellent base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer and is within an easy drive of Truro, Padstow, Falmouth, St Ives, Penzance and Land's End. A variety of Cornwall's best tourist attractions, including the Eden Project, Healey's Cyder Farm, Dairyland, Cornwall's Camel Creek, National Maritime Museum, Minnack Open Air Theatre, Tate Gallery St Ives, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and National Trust Gardens are all within easy reach. If it's walking and admiring the stunning Cornish coastline you like then the South West Coast Path is just around the corner, and we recommend a scenic walk to the picturesque village of St Agnes or to the lovely beach at Holywell Bay for the more energetic! There are 7 town beaches in Cornwall - all a short drive, or a reasonable walk away.

Who we are

  1. We are Terri and Nat (a female couple) with a 5 year old daughter. Terri is a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Childbirth Educator, and Nat is an Executive Chef. We both work fully time. Our 5 year old goes to primary school. Terri runs a therapy clinic from home.
We are a very clean and tidy family - we would be looking for similar.
We are looking for cost effective ways of 'getting away' and would like to make better use of the school holidays.
We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to give it a try with the right family.
We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers, maybe via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay. A Skype conversation and 'virtual tour' would also be desirable.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The house is on a small estate at the quieter end of Newquay. It is tucked away on a corner of a road leading to a cul-de-sac (no through traffic). The area is quiet and family friendly with many of the neighbours having children. The neighbours on the row are friendly and keep themselves to themselves. The parking is good in the area with a communal car park situated just up from the house (2 cars driveway outside the house). The town is a 5-10 minute drive away or a 30 minute walk. 2 big supermarkets are a 2 minute drive away. Local town beaches are 5-10 minutes away or a 30-40 minute walk.
