Our home

We love our home. It was built in the 1961 and has big spacious rooms. There is a garden with patio to enjoy good weather outside. The kitchen is very spacious with all modern facilities. The bathroom has a power shower and the sun shines in first thing in the morning. We also have a small bathroom downstairs. We have two cats-Poppy and Pickles which I would like to leave here during your stay. They are very friendly and independent as they have a cat-flap. However if this a problem I`m sure we can arrange something. We have a big lounge with TV, DVD and CD player. There is a sofa bed and French windows to the garden. There is also a piano and two ukuleles if you`re musical!

Who we are

  1. Hello I`m Sarah. I am 47 and have a 15 year old daughter. I am an Assistant Head at a local primary school and have been in education for 20 years. My workload doesn`t leave much free time but I visit friends around the country whenever I can. We enjoy camping and travelling abroad whenever we can. I read lots of books and am an active taxi service for my daughter and her friends! I enjoy live music and often go to a fabulous music club in London called What`s Cooking. My oldest friends run the club and have a fantastic menu of live bands. I enjoy the cinema and walks along the very old canal in Newbury.

My extended family all live close by which makes for fabulous family occasions as I have my parents, three brothers, a sister and a niece!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Mayfair Drive is a suburban neighbourhood.
We are 6 miles from Downton Abbey (Highclere Castle) which is very easy to drive to and fantastic to visit. There are tours around the castle, grounds and Egyptian artifacts exhibition. New bury is a 500 year old market town with a river and canal. There is a castle that was captured by the Cavaliers in the English Civil War. Newbury has a racecourse and so has lots of old pubs and restaurants. We have the Watermill Theatre and the Corn Exchange which hosts plays, pantos, comedy and films. Newbury has a duplex cinema and a shopping centre. We are 55 mins from London on the train, a 45min drive to Stonehenge and an hour from the coast. Oxford is 40 mins away and Windsor 50 mins away by car. Newbury is a really good base to visit lots of places.
