Who we are

  1. Our family love to travel and we have done 6 successful exchanges now including California and Baltimore USA. Its a great way to live like a local for a short time. Both myself and my husband work for the Government. We have a girl age 17 and a boy of 15 who are very well behaved and will take good care of your home.
For summer 2016 we would like to visit USA, Italy, or Spain.

Unfortunately we do need a minimum of 3 bedrooms having a teenage girl and boy.

Please contact us with any offers - we will always consider them and reply.

We live in a lovely area of Yorkshire. There is a pub just around the corner next to the village cricket pitch and also two more within walking distance in Menston village. We are 5 minutes train journey from Ilkley which is a lovely small town with the famous Bettys Tea Room and its surrounded by the stunning Ilkley moors - great for walking. You can also use the outdoor swimming pool in Ilkley in the summer or swim in the River Wharfe. The train station is just 7 minutes level walk away from our house and you can travel into Leeds in 15 minutes. Leeds is a major city with everything you would expect and it is renowned for its shops including the first branch of Harvey Nichols outside London. Also the new £300 million pound shopping centre has opened which has some of the best shops in the UK.

From Leeds it is very easy by train (20 minutes) to get to the historic city of York and visit York Cathedral. London is two hours train journey from Leeds.(We would be happy to arrange accommodation if you wanted a short stay in London.)You can also get the train to Edinburgh.

We are close to the Yorkshire Dales and Bronte country which is fabulous for scenery and walking. There are stately homes nearby. For example Harewood House the home of the Queens cousin is a 20 minute drive away. Castle Howard is a little further but easily accessible. Harrogate, one of Englands prettiest small towns is 20 minutes away by car and the Lake District can be reached in under two hours drive.

If you like history there are a number of spectacular abbeys nearby which you might like to explore e.g. Bolton, Fountains and Kirkstall.

There is a lot more information on this beautiful part of Yorkshire on

If you wanted to explore a little further afield we are only 10 minutes drive from Leeds/Bradford airport which offers low cost flights to all top European cities - check out and We have travelled to Paris, Rome, Madrid, Barcelona and Dublin from Leeds and have a number of guide books to help you. Our nearest international airport is Manchester which is an hours drive away and is a transatlantic option for your arrival in England.
