Our home

Our second home is a lovely ground floor two bedroom flat on the historic Castlegate in Jedburgh. We are a family of six and use it for 4-6 weeks a year, and we just love it. One bedroom has a queen-size bed and the other bedroom has bunk beds, a futon, a recliner, a single bed with trundle, and a television stocked with family friendly DVDs. Our bathroom has a basic sink/toilet/tub/shower. Our kitchen is completely equipped with dishes, appliances, basic pantry items, a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and kitchen table. The living room has ample comfortable seating and a cozy gas fire, as well as a table and chairs and TV/DVD player. There is even a guitar for strumming. Looking out the window, you will see the beautiful Jedburgh Abbey, circa 1100. Our little garden has a wooden child-size play house, a patio, bench, table and chairs, and plenty of Scottish heather, lavender and rosemary!

Who we are

  1. We are a family of 6, and my husband is originally from Scotland. After our first child was born, we decided to move back to the States but left a piece of our hearts in those beautiful hills. We kept the flat so we could continue to go back every year as our family grew. We love to go back every year for 4-6 weeks.

This year, one of our daughters auditioned for and was accepted into the American Ballet Theatre Young Dancer Workshop in NYC. For this reason we are looking for a house exchange for the dates of July 26, 2015-August 7, 2015 for 1 child and 1-2 adults. The flat in Scotland does not have to be used for those exact dates as it is available all year.
