Our home

Our family home in a private setting and a good sized garden. The downstairs has a large L shaped open plan lounge and dining room with large bifold doors leading to the deck. It has an oak floor and lots of light and a wood burning stove. The kitchen is off the dining area and has a range cooker, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer. There is a playroom with patio doors which can be used as an additional bedroom if required. There is a shower room with toilet downstairs housing the washer and dryer. Upstairs is the family bathroom, one double room with super king bed and 3 single rooms. There is room for put me ups if needed.

There are paddocks on both sides of the garden, currently with two donkeys residing there. This gives privacy and peace to the garden and house.

Outside we have a campfire area, bbq, a den, swings. The back garden surrounds two sides of the house. The front area has a drive around drive with a fenced off pond in the centre. Looking from the house the view is accross to the stables, barn and bottom field.

Please ask us further information on the house facilities.

We are happy to car swap our car seats 7, we have camping equipment you can use. We have some adult and childrens bikes for you to borrow.

Who we are

  1. We are Iain and Rosie, a married couple with three children 9,6,5 (summer 2012). We are both professionals and enjoy travelling and experiencing other countries. We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to for the children and ourselves to experience living in other countries as a "resident" and use your house as a base for our travels. We enjoy outdoor activities but also like to be able to access city and cultural life.

We look forward to discussing an exchange with you - please enquire!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are on the edge of a forest hamlet. The village is small but freindly with quite a few children. If you would like your children to join local holiday activites we can help organise that - there are mutlisport days, craft type days and general holiday clubs. A great way to develop English language if needed or to mix with local children.

We are in the New Forest National Park www.newforest.co.uk and a few miles from the sea. There are new forest ponies and donkeys passing the gate and direct access to the forest for walking and picnics. There are some lovely pubs nearby one just a 10min walk down a footpath near the house.

We are based just outside Lymington a pretty Georgian market town that is a thriving yachting centre. Lots of restaurants and pubs, lovely coastal path walks, boat trips, and ferries to the Isle Of Wight.

This neighbourhood is ideal for an active family or sailing enthusiasts. There is cycling, canoeing, horse riding, beaches, sailing, fishing in the vicinity. Pretty and interesting places nearby are Bucklars Hard, Burley, Brockenhurst, Milford on Sea. The seaside resort of Bournemouth is less than an hours drive away. Nearby is the Beaulieu Motor Museum, Paultons Park Theme Park, Longdown Dairy Farm, New Forect Worldlife Centre. Brockenhurst 7 miles away has excellent rail connections to Winchester, Salisbury, Oxford and London.

. Take a look at www.lymington.co.uk

Weymouth is about 2 hours drive away but will be the centre of Sailing activities for the Olympics in 2012.

There are two local airports nearby Bournemouth and Southampton, offering no frills airline going to holiday destinations in Europe see ryanair.com
