Our home

Our home is a 25 year old detached house situated in a cul de sac, in a pretty village on the River Thames.

Downstairs the house has a large sitting room, dining room, study, family room, modern recently fitted kitchen, new utility room and cloakroom.
Upstairs there are four good sized bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super king sized bed and a modern en suite bathroom. The second bathroom is a newly fitted wet room.

Outside at the front there is a paved drive with ample parking and a garage. At the rear there is a garden with a newly fitted patio stretching the width of the house.

Who we are

  1. We are a retired couple in our 60's. Neil was a chartered accountant and Barbara a teacher. We have done a lot of travelling and have had seven very successful house exchanges via another home exchange site. We care for our house and would do the same for any we exchange with. We both enjoy the outdoors and walking. Neil plays golf, Barbara swims and we both play bridge. We have one son and daughter in law who live in London.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Shiplake is a village situated on the river Thames and two miles from Henley on Thames. We are a few minutes walk from the river and some very beautiful walks, including the Thames Path, making it an ideal place for people who enjoy walking. Henley can be reached by walking along the river, catching the train or driving. A rail branch line runs through the village from Henley to Twyford where there is a quick connection to London. This takes about an hour. There is also easy access to Reading and Oxford. The village has a very good grocery store and post office, an excellent butcher and two pubs.
