AVAILABLE DURING THE OLYMPIC GAMES!!

Lovely 2 bed duplex with fabulous rooftop views of the iconic Tower Bridge and The Shard. The flat is modern and finished to a high standard with many luxury touches.

The flat has two bedrooms both with ensuite bathrooms, one with a kingsize bed and one with a double. One bedroom also has a cot bed and there is an additional double mattress available should it be needed.

The living area has a light open plan layout combining a kitchen, breakfast bar, dining table and lounge area. There is also a guest bathroom/utility room with a washing machine and dryer. The kitchen is equipped with a large American style fridge freezer, oven and dishwasher. The lounge area leads onto a balcony with small table and chair with south west fabulous views over the rooftops with Tower Bridge and the Shard as a backdrop.

The apartment is located on the 3rd & 4th floor of the building and benefits from the use if a lift. The building is located within a gated complex with communal gardens and private parking.

There is a Waitrose supermarket in the front of the entrance to the complex and the bars and restaurants of the famous St Katherine's Dock and the Dickens Inn Pub are just across the road from there.

Property features

Who we are

  1. My family and I lived here in the 80/90´s. My children went to the local school until we returned to the UK in 1997. When I retired from teaching a few years ago I couldn´t wait to come back and have had no regrets. The lifestyle here is very laid back and"natural". People tend to live an almost self sufficient life here, growing their own fruit and veg, keeping a couple of pigs and goats. There is a sprinkling of ex pats who are all well integrated into the Spanish way of life. It must be one of the few places where you can go out and leave your door unlocked and allow your children to play outside without giving it a second thought. I have a Scottish Terrier called Chia who is very well behaved and a cat. I visit London frequently as my children live there so am interested in exchanges there but also elsewhere.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Wapping is something of a Londoners' secret and is located in the east side of Central London (zone 1) right between the City of London and Canary Wharf. Our Apartment is within 5 mins walking distance (through St Katherine's Docks) to the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and, slightly further, Borough market, the Globe, Tate Modern and St Paul's Cathedral. A lovely walk is along the riverside path to St Katharine Docks, over Tower Bridge and then along the South Bank to Borough market, Southwark Cathedral, The Golden Hind, London Dungeon, the Globe and the Tate Modern then over the Millennium Bridge to St Paul's cathedral. From here you can take the 100 bus straight back home. If you're feeling fit you can walk on to Westminster and Big Ben and from there anywhere in central London. The other way is historic Limehouse with its pubs (including Gordon Ramsay's acclaimed Narrow) in ancient Narrow Street. Wapping is also ancient and has cobbled streets and converted warehouses. One of London's prime real estate areas it's quiet and safe. If you get bored of rubbing shoulders with Times' journalists then step over the road to the old smugglers' inn; the sixteenth century Prospect of Whitby, one of several riverside inns within strolling distance.

Overall Wapping is an excellent base to explore Central London or get access to the Olympic Village as its very well connected by tube, bus (the tourist sight seeing bus also stops 5 mins from our apartment)and river boat.
