Our home

Our family home is a charming 1900 historic Victorian terraced house on 3 floors, with cellar and garden at the back. We have retained all of the original features, as well as updating the bathrooms and converting the loft into a large airy space. It is decorated in traditional style and comfortable, including heating and fire places that work. The garden is about 15m long and 5 wide, with a treehouse and swing, plus patio with barbecue, tables and chairs, and lawn. The house sleeps 8 comfortably (including a double sofa bed in the living room on the ground floor), but if you have small people, you could easily put down more mattresses and get another 4 in - we do somtimes. We also have two gorgeous cats who would love to be fed while you are here.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of four, including two teenage children. I work in publishing and my husband is a primary school teacher. We enjoy seeing the world and know that any family coming to our home would be sure of a good welcome. We have has one home exchange and it was a big success.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The neighbourhood is residential urban London, an 8 minute walk from Herne Hill station, which is only 10 minutes from Victoria and Blackfriars stationa in the middle of London. There are also buses to central London. The streets are residential and we are very near Brockwell Park - a delightful park with Lido swimming pool, tennis courts, paddling pool and BMX bike track. Dulwich Village is a 15 minute walk, and has its own park, plus the lovely Dulwich Art Gallery - the first public art gallery in Europe - well worth a visit.
