Our home

Our home is a Victorian terrace house, with character and original features. We've got a large double size living room space, a kitchen with bi-fold doors opening onto the garden which adds lots of space and light. There's a small toilet downstairs as well as a bathroom upstairs. Our bedrooms are large and spacious so you won't feel cramped while you stay. We've got 2 young boys(2 and 5) so we have lots of toys, scooters, bikes for kids to use. We're also happy to have guests use our bikes. Also have a kids seat that fits on both adult bikes.

The master bedroom has a kingsize bed. Our children's bedroom has bunk beds and there is additional floor space in both bedrooms should you have more kids. The other room has a double bed.

In the garden we have a decked area with seating, a trampoline, a sand pit and a BBQ. We also have outdoor toys for little ones to use.

We have a friendly cat called Klaus who we'd need you to look after...he keeps to himself and is low maintenance.

Guest Access

Guests will have exclusive use of the house, including the kitchen and garden.

Interaction with Guests

We will arrange for our neighbours to collect and drop off keys, and they will be around should any issues arise.

Who we are

  1. We are a married professional couple(social worker and a retail owner) with 2 young kids aged 3 and 5. We love living in the buzz of London but also love to excape. We've not done an exchange before but we're looking forward to enjoying a break at another persons home where we can feel comfortable and relaxed and enjoy a local community.
Before kids we loved to surf(badly), so we love the sea and outdoor pursuits like rock climbing and snowboarding. We are very relaxed and friendly and would want to find out lots about folks coming to stay at our home so that we could ensure you had a great stay.

The Neighbourhood

We live in Homerton, a socially and culturally diverse area in Hackney. It's got the bustle of an inner city area and we love the fact that it's got a great buzz and there are lots of things to do right on our doorstep. If you want to see London, then our location is prefect as we've got a tube within walking distance and we're about 30 mins from central london and the sights like Buckingham Palace, London Bridge and the Tate Modern Art Gallery.

Our Victorian terrace is a five minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Chatsworth Rd, which houses a great food market on Sunday's, a 15 minute walk to the beautiful Victoria Park with its cafes, playgrounds and ponds, and 20 mins to Victoria Park Village. Which has some lovely restaurants and shops. We're also a 15 minute cycle to the Olympic park which has amazing playground spaces, as well as the Velodrome and Zaha Hadid designed Olympic swimming pool.

We're at the Homerton High St end of the road so we're a minutes walk from a couple of pubs where you can grab a pint of beer and watch the football. Both pubs do great Sunday roasts so you can experience great local British cuisine.

We are about 8 mins walk from Homerton Station, which is on the Overground line and goes westward to Dalston( 2 stops) Highbury and Islington(5 stops) and the connection to the Victoria Line, Camden and Hampstead. Total journey time to Central London( ie Oxford St) is 30 mins.
From Homerton Stn if you head East, it's 2 stops to Stratford stn, with Westfield shopping centre and the Olympic park amenities. You can also connect with the Central and Jubilee lines and it's about 20 mins to Oxford St from there.
Bus wise there are easy links to Stoke Newington, Dalston, Hackney central, London Fields to name a few.
