Our home

We have a large, comfortable, stylish, light and airy house in Kensal Rise, which is just two miles from the centre of London. We have five large bedrooms, three bathrooms, a generous sized sitting room with ample seating, two roomy offices, a large kitchen/diner features tiled flooring and French doors looking out on to a pretty terrace and a long, leafy garden. There are whitewashed wooden floors throughout the house, fireplaces in most of the rooms and carpet on the stairs and landing. We have a friendly cleaner, who comes once a week, although she can come more often if needed. I will be updating our pictures shortly but in the meantime you can check out more pictures and a video of our home with this website: http://www.shootfactory.co.uk/london-houses/1222/tv-video-photo-film-location.html

Who we are

  1. We are Amanda and Ben, a married couple, in our early 50s with two teenage children Florence, 19 and Ollie, 18. We are both journalists (I'm an interiors magazine editor and my husband is a freelance writer) and we all love travelling, visiting new countries and trying out new experiences. We've done one exchange so far and are keen to give it another go!

Your neighbourhood

Centrally located just two miles from the centre of London, Kensal Rise is close to the buzzing markets of Portobello and Notting Hill and a stroll away from lots of local coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shops in Kensal Rise and Queens Park. We have a lovely local cinema called the Lexi which features arty and mainstream films where you can enjoy a drink while watching the latest releases. There is a train station just five minutes walk from the house that goes from East to West London so from the attractions of Stratford in the East (which includes the Olympic stadium and Westfield East) to leafy Richmond in the West. We are 10 minutes walk across a pretty park to Queen's Park station on the Bakerloo line which is a 20 minute journey to Oxford Street where you'll find lots of great shopping, restaurants, fun nightlife and theatre. There is on street parking and tubes and trains run until midnight. There are also buses and night buses running into the centre of the city.
