Our home

We offer a large and comfortable family home in South West London. We have the advantage of being connected to Central London via the underground or overground trains, and being right next to the local common with its large open spaces, tennis courts and play park for children. Our home has three reception rooms, one which leads onto a small garden via French doors. The house has been refurbished to a high standard but retains many of the original features including two working fireplaces in the three reception rooms downstairs and one French wood burning stove. There are two double bedrooms, one bedroom with two children's beds and one office/single bedroom. The house backs onto open space. We have a variety of bikes and toys for young children. There is also an office with PC and internet.

Who we are

  1. We are a married couple just turned 40, with twin boys aged 3 and a half, Gabriel and Joseph. Richard works as a Project Manager in an Inner City Regeneration Project, and Sheila is a Clinical Child Psychologist. As a family we enjoy a mixture of cultural and outdoor activities and for our holiday we are looking for a location in France where we could explore a local town, and perhaps be near the beach. We are staying for one week in the Ardeche and would like another week after this one to stay either nearby or further towards the coast. This is our first house exchange and we would be keen to exchange with a family as we feel our house would be best suited to a couple with children. We would like to exchange emails first with anyone interested in our home so that we can give more details and find out about your home in greater detail. Anyone staying at our house will receive a warm reception from our neighbours and will be able to take their pick of the enormous range of activities that London has to offer.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

This is a unique part of London known as Furzedown which is well known as a friendly family-oriented neighbourhood. It has the advantage of being well connected to central London (on the Northern Line) and also being right next to Tooting Bec Common which is a large open space with woods for moutain biking and exploring. The Common also boasts Europe's largest outdoor Lido, which is where our children spend most of the Summer. The Lido not only has an Olympic size pool for older children and adults but also a shallow fenced pool for smaller children. We have many loal restaurants, but also are a 5 minute drive from Balham and Clapham which have hundreds of wonderful restaurants and bars. We are well connected with local families and can put a visiting family in touch with both local and London based activities. London offers a fantastically wide range of museums, galleries and other cultural entertainments, and we are only 20 minutes drive from the South Bank which has the National Film Theatre and National Theatre.
