Our home

Our home is a bright, modern, comfortable apartment right in the heart of London, only minutes walk to the Thames, Big Ben/Westminster, the South Bank (London's cultural heart) and the West End - we even have a view overlooking the London Eye! It's small but perfectly formed, consisting of one airy double bedroom, a modern clean bathroom (with 24 hour hot water with bath and shower), and a large lounge/kitchenette with full cooking facilities and washer/dryer. We are located in a modern development (2005) with secure entry and elevator, and it's an ideal base for exploring London on foot, we love our weekend walks discovering new things about our city, and hope you will enjoy the same! We also have a broadband/Wi-Fi connection you can use, as well as Freeview TV (30 channels), music system and DVD player, and a fantastically comfortable sofa to crash out on at night! Despite the central location we are facing away from the main road so don't have major problems with noise (well apart from the chimes of Big Ben!), and being a new development it's also very well insulated against noise and the cold having triple glazed windows, so no need to fear the British weather!

Who we are

  1. We are a 30 something couple who greatly enjoy travelling. Two years ago we took a career break and travelled extensively, unfortunately money will not allow us to do this forever so it was back to work for us but we still try to fit in as much travel as possible. I am a secondary school teacher which is why my dates are not flexible. I like to make the most of my 13 weeks holidays and enjoy visiting a great variety of countries. Our home is very special to us and we know that your homes will be special to you too. We are very tidy and respectful of other people's property as we are sure you would be with ours.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live in Waterloo in central London, a surprisingly relaxed area for its location. Located next door to Lambeth North Underground station (Bakerloo Line), and 5 minutes walk from Waterloo station (Northern/Jubilee and overground trains great for trips to Windsor Castle and Hampton Court), we have fantastic transport links to pretty much anywhere in the capital. We love the range of bars, restaurants and culture right on our doorstep, with 3 major theatres (NT, Old & Young Vic), the Festival Hall and several major art galleries (Tate, Hayward and National Gallery) all within easy walking distance (15 minutes or less). The West End shows are also all within walking distance. It's a popular area with locals and tourists alike, and due to its central location it's safe at any time of the day and night. Buses also stop right outside and run 24 hours to all over London. We would recommend the local restaurants on The Cut and the Southbank particularly (Oxo Tower if you are treating yourself!). You can also just enjoy a stroll along the south bank of the Thames from here all the way up to Tower Bridge for some of the nicest views of the city. St James Park and Buckingham Palace are also nearby. We also have a 24 hour convenience store and ATM across the road for any late night supplies, as well as several small supermarkets nearby.
