Our home is comfortable, clean and spacious. It has a large fully equipped kitchen/living room on the ground floor with a cloakroom (loo and basin). The TV/sitting room is on the first floor. There are three double bedrooms; one has a double bed and ensuite shower room and loo; one has a large double bed and bathroom with loo next to it. The third bedroom has a double bed with an ensuite shower room and loo. Built in 2008, it is a gated development with parking for one car per household -a big advantage in London! Furnished with mainly modern quality furniture, it was finished to a high specification eg oak flooring and granite worktop in kitchen; oak staircase. A cleaner comes in once a week.
Access to Central London is twenty minutes by train direct from Mortlake station to Waterloo, from where you can easily walk to many famous landmarks: Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Soho, Covent Garden, West End shops and many famous Theatres, Museums, Art Galleries (eg Tate Modern, Courtauld)and Concert Halls (eg Royal Festival Hall).

We are a married couple with two teenage sons - my husband is a Marketing Consultant and I work for a local charity. We generally spend our summer holidays in France(my in-laws are French) but would like to break with tradition and go somewhere else sunny, beside the sea, preferably Mediterranean Spain. This is our first time exchanging our home and look forward to people being able to benefit from all London has to offer the visitor, while staying in our comfortable and easily maintained home, within the peaceful environs of Mortlake. We plan to treat your home with respect as we hope you will ours!

Mortlake/Barnes is a green and pleasant area of South West London close to the River Thames and Richmond Park. Access to Central London is easy by train or bus and to the M4 motorway leading out to Heathrow Airport and the west eg Windsor, Oxford, Bath.
Locally there are many independent shops with two supermarkets within easy walking distance; numerous good restaurants and cafes. There is a small park with swings for young children closeby and lovely walks along the towpath by the River Thames - Kew Gardens in one direction and Barnes, Hammersmith and Putney in the other - with plenty of great pubs along the way. Richmond Park is ten minutes walk from our house. We have bikes. Walkers, cyclists and joggers can enjoy the beauty and calm of Richmond Park, in acres of open countryside. There is a small golf range at Duke's Meadows between Mortlake and Chiswick; as well as tennis courts and a covered pool near Chiswick House. The open air pool is in Richmond.
