Our home

We have a lovely period house which is comfortable, clean, and spacious. All the rooms are well equipped and roomy. We have a large eat in kitchen. The lounge area behind opens up to a beautiful light and airy room which opens up completely (with a folding French door) to the back garden. We have both cherry and apples trees, flowers in our garden plus a trampoline for our active boys (ages 6 and 4). There is a patio/BBQ area also for lazy summer days/evenings. We have no shortage of wildlife - birds and squirrels as we back on to the beautiful Ruskin Park. We also have amazing views of London - including the London eye, Canary Warf and the BT tower. There are three very spacious bedrooms. One on the top floor with an ensuite bathroom and enormous emperor size bed! The view from the Juliette balcony is fantastic. The bedrooms on the second floor are also large and well decorated. One bedroom has bunk beds plus pull out sofa bed. The other room has a double bed with nice views over the back garden.
I will attach photos just as soon as my camera is returned to me hopefully this weekend - May 14th!

We love spending time in my home as it is warm and inviting but also love to explore other areas of the world which is why would like to swap with like minded people!

The area of Herne Hill is a very lovely and sought after area of London. We are lucky enough to have bus routes, trains and a tube station within a short walk. The tube is a 15 min walk away. You can be in central London in 8 minutes if you choose the train. There are numerous galleries and parks in the area along with fabulous restaurants and pubs in Brixton, Herne Hill and Dulwich. There are several gyms and swimming pools also. Along with a lovely 1930s Lido in the nearby Brockwell Park. I'm very happy to offer recommendations and local tips, feel free to ask if you have a particular interest or hobby that you would like to pursue and I can research it for you.

We have plenty of childrens toys - suitable for boys mainly plus the possibility of using the car (unless we take the car with us). It goes without saying we have TV/DVD/Stereo plus a cd player (if requested).

Do please ask me any questions and let me know if you would like more photos.

Happy house swap!

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a family of four myself - Helen, husband - Olly and our two boys Stanley (6) and Jake (4). Olly and I are in our late 30s. I'm a full time mum at the moment and spend a lot of time running around after my boys (including OllY!) between school and after school classed. We seem to have a large collection of LEGO which is growing and growing only matched by the amount of Star Wars related toys which we are accumulating. Olly works in central London and we both have a strong love of travelling and exploring. We have both travelled extensively throughout Asia/Australia/Europe (France in particular) and would like to do more with our boys. We have never done a home exchange before but would love to start and look forward to our first. We are open to destinations and would consider any (child friendly) suggestions!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The neighborhood is very friendly and there is a good community spirit. We have lovely neighbors who we chat to regularly and get on very well with. There are many parks at your fingertips so it is a lovely leafy area but also many options for eating out, cinema, gigs and pubs. There are quite a few excellent reviews of local restaurants/pubs in the national press which I'm happy to forward. And it makes eating out a must! The busy and hip area of Brixton is a short walk/bus ride away. There you can jump on the tube and you'll be in central London in 10 minutes. If you have children you will probably want a playground or park. Our house backs onto a park with a wonderful paddling pool, playground and tennis courts. So you are approximately 10 seconds away. Or 10 minutes from three other parks! The local shop is a 5 minute walk and there are numerous farmers markets on at weekends.
