Dorothy L Sayers blue plaque across the street and other past residentsinclude Swinburne, Virginia and Leonard Wolf and T S Eliot; and current ones include contemporary international sculptor Terry Duffy. Charles Dickens lived just around the corner in Doughty Street - now his museum; as did Peter O'Toole, Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath at "18 Rugby Street"..

Within 1km are Eurostar Rail Terminal, British Library, British Museum and 20 other museums, Sadlers Wells, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, hundreds of restaurants and pubs etc. Cinemas and theatres close by and throughout the West End. Adjoins the Inns of Court, London's Little Italy and the City of London. Holborn, Russell Square and Chancery Lane metro stations; St Pancras, Kings Cross and Euston stations and dozens of bus routes are within 0.5km.

For younger people: a few minutes walk away is Coram's Fields, a 3 ha playground and park which includes a Youth Centre, Children's Centre, Community Nursery, Sports Program, a city farm and a cafe ( Quote from Spanish exchangers: "Coram's fields is perfect for children, we spent 4 hours today, our daughter made friends."
