Our home

We are offering to exchange our spacious and comfortable 2nd floor apartment in central Muswell Hill with you. The apartment is one of 4 in a 1950s block that is situated on one of the area's favourite roads, 3-5 minutes from all the local shops, restaurants and public transport.

There are 2 large south facing receptions with a balcony overlooking the tree-lined street below. These rooms have sofas. an armchair, an upright piano and Sony TV/DVD etc. Style is relaxed, with wooden floors, rugs, floor lamps and a wall of books.

The kitchen/diner is a good size, with a beautiful modern (Conran) table that seats up to 8 people. There is a washing machine, large fridge freezer, gas stove and built in electric oven, plus all the usual cooking utensils, crockery etc (we love our food and spend a lot of time in this room!).

The kitchen overlooks a very large shared garden at the back of the house, and with the mature trees and no houses for 150ft, it is very, very peaceful (especially for London) - we even have a pair of owls nesting in one of the trees.

The first bedroom has a double bed and single bunk bed (for 2 of our children) and the master bedroom has a luxurious, extra large king sized bed (Vi Spring) which is very hard to get of in the morning! The third bedroom is a large single, ideal for younger children.

There are 2 small bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath, both with toilets/hand basins.

This is a family home, characterful and attractive, clean but well lived in - visitors comment most often on how relaxed and comfortable they feel.

Who we are

  1. We are a family of 5 - Henry, Rachel and our 3 daughters aged 10, 13 and 15. Henry is a Director in a London-based communications agency and Rachel is Creative Director in her own accessories business.

    We enjoy food, film, music, travel and time with friends and family.

Muswell Hill is an extremely popular area for families, about 25-30 minutes from Central London by car or public transport. It sits between Highgate (5 mins on the bus), Alexandra Palace (10 minute walk), Crouch End (10 minutes on the bus) and Hampstead.

Known for it's arty/creative background and spectacular views over London, Muswell Hill is home to a beautiful independent art deco cinema, fabulous restaurants, a range of independent shops and an exceptional choice of food shopping (delicatessens, wine, cheese, organic, plus 3 small supermarkets).

As well as the immediate area, Muswell Hill allows easy access via bus and tube (Highgate) to North and central London, making it an increasingly popular tourist destination for those who want the peace of being on the hill whilst having easy access to all of London's numerous attractions.
