Our home

Our home is an elegant Victorian house, extended and modernised over the past few years and furnished with antiques. The master bedroom has a kingsized bed and en suite bathroom; both the other bedrooms have standard double beds and their own shower rooms. There is a library with French windows looking over the garden, with a Smart TV and Blue Ray player. Downstairs there is an open plan drawing room and dining room, modern kitchen/breakfast room leading onto the garden, a study and a cloakroom. We have a small, secluded walled garden which is a sun trap.

Who we are

  1. We are a mature couple. I work in finance and my wife is a jazz singer; her day job is with a company that provides credit cards for private jet owners. Our children are grown up. We love the theatre and music, good food, fine wine, reading, cycling and sport.

We visit my wife's parents in San Juan Capistrano, California every summer and love visiting European cities for weekends throughout the year. We have enjoyed exchanges with friends in New York, California and Lake Tahoe.

Your neighbourhood

Barnes is one of London's villages, on the River Thames, just south of Hammersmith Bridge. Excellent transport links to central London by underground from Hammersmith, a short bus ride away, or by mainline from Barnes or Barnes Bridge rail stations. There are several good restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance, and plenty of shops in Barnes village, which also has a Farmers' Market every Saturday.

Walkers, cyclists and joggers can enjoy the Thames towpath and Richmond Park, 2,500 acres of open countryside just five minutes from our house.

There are cinemas in Richmond and Putney and a fine theatre in Richmond and of course London's Theatreland is a short train ride away, as are its art galleries and museums.
