Our home

This is a simple but clean and comfortable second home, ideal for short stays in London. We recommend a maximum of two people but some visitors have found it fine with an addtional young child. The flat is on the first floor of a listed 1930's building. It consists of a living room with sofa bed, additional seating, dining table and storage. The kitchen is compact but well equipped for basic cooking with cooker, fridge and washing machine.(Many cafes, restaurants and shops nearby.)There is a small entrance hall with further storage and a bathroom with shower. The communal gardens are well kept and our flat is at the back of the building away from the main road, so quiet. It is centrally heated and double glazed. The security in the building is excellent, with intercom system and CCTV. The flat is free during most academic holidays and as it is a second home non simultaneous exchanges are possible.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a quiet professional couple in our late 40's, and experienced exchangers. We moved our main home from London to North Pembrokeshire a few years ago and use this flat as a base when working in London or visiting old haunts and friends. We are interested in city breaks where there are galleries, museums and restaurants and also unspoiled seaside or rural areas in Europe. We enjoy gentle walking and good food.

Our apartment is free for most of summer 2012 (including during the Olympics), as well as during most academic holidays. We have made all our own travel plans for 2012 but happy to consider non simultaneous exchanges in which we travel in 2013.

We are always open to non-simultaneous offers from Europe, but do not plan to travel to Australia or New Zealand for the foreseeable future.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are within 5 minutes walk of Brixton Underground and rail stations, with a number of bus routes passing immediately outside the building. Most areas of central London - for theatres, galleries, shopping etc - are reachable within 20-30 minutes from the door. Brixton itself is a lively cosmopolitan area with a number of cafes and restaurants, an independent cinema, a great indoor market and a park a few minutes walk away from the flat. There is a good local leisure centre and an outdoor restored 1930's swimming pool open in summer.
