Our flat is comfortable, clean and spacious, without too much clutter as it is a second home. It has just been recently redecorated and is the perfect flat for visiting London, as its location is just off the Portobello road, with it famous market and fashionable restaurants. It is also beside Goldborne road, which is rapidly changing to become one of the more exciting streets in Notting Hill, great restaurants and shops. It is located about 5-8, minutes from Ladbroke grove underground and Westbourne park tube.
There are 2 double bedrooms, both with a lot of storage space, but only one bathroom, with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and can seat very comfortably 6, at a small squash 8. The living room is large and has a TV, internet etc. it has a door which leads to a decked garden of about 30ft, where there is a table, chairs and hut!!!
I think this flat is lovely, the location is brilliant and the only drawback I can find is that the outside of the building is not particularly attractive, but that is forgotten when inside and really its a great address to have as a base.
My husband, Olivier and I, Karin, have 3 children who are now at university and one living abroad in China. I am a decorator and property developer and husband is an artist and because of the flexibility of his work, it means we are now able to travel more, especially without the constraints of school holidays. This is the first time we have done something like this, but have been recommended by friends to give it a go, as we now this have second home. It means that the flat is available almost any time someone wants it, so I could be there to 'meet and greet' and you would not be limited to specific dates.
I have written 4 people travelling, but in all honesty its most likely to be only 2, I just wanted the option of bringing the children if it was possible.
I'm really happy to give any information you would like about the area, restaurant, pros and cons. etc. it would be nice to talk if an arrangement is made. I can assure you that I love my home and its extremely important to me that any exchange is mutual, that any place i stayed would be treated with the same respect and care, I'd like to receive myself.
As previously mentioned, Portobello Road is less than 2 minutes away, you enter it from the north end, which means you pass through the vintage clothes market, and ethnic shops before you get to the antique part. This is still the far more original end as the glitzy bit is about 10 minutes down the road. It is as fun as the film shows!!!! There are so many restaurants of all types, some extremely fashionable, some more local, I can give you a list of ones I like !!!! but you never have a problem finding food, also the market itself and around the area is amazing if you want to cook at home.
Goldbourne Road, which leads off from the flat, is like a mini Portobello, full of antique shops, curios, restaurants, bars etc. its surprisingly quiet at night, considering the buzz at day.
The local transport is very good, with 2 tube lines and bus's to take you all over London. I do have a car that i can make available, that you can park outside the flat. This is a fun part of London to be in, well located and diverse, close to parks and in the royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea. A good comfortable base,
