Our home

We live in a BEAUTIFUL Victorian townhouse maisonette in Central London. Technically, our flat is three bedrooms but one of the rooms has been made over into a study, which is great to work in. As we have a three year old child the second bedroom is a nursery but for older children, we have a futon if necessary; also the large sitting room upstairs will comfortable sleep at least two children on futons or air beds. We have a sweet garden, very private, and two bathrooms. There is only one other flat in the building - also a maisonette - and our neighbour is often away so the flat has the feel of a house.

Property features

Who we are

  1. I am a writer (a novelist and screenwriter) and psychotherapist and my partner is a writer and assistant vet. We both enjoy the arts and, despite having a young child, do manage to get out quite a lot and enjoy this great city. We love films, books, gigs, galleries, good food and good wine and have a fairly active social life centered around the area we live. We are also great lovers of London and specifically this area.

Your neighbourhood

Our property offers the best of both worlds in that you are only a short walk from Hampstead Heath and Highgate Cemetery and yet equally only a few minute walk from two tube stations, the overground to Richmond, and at least four great bus lines; we can be in the West End in fifteen minutes on the Northern Line. Kentish Town is a kind of bohemian village - many people in the arts and media live here, and there are an abundance of wonderful restaurants, bars and shops only minutes from our flat as well as a very good gym only a thirty second walk away. We have four cinemas within two miles as well as a number of pubs offering comedy or quiz nights. We are only a fifteen minute walk from Camden Town with its famous Camden Market, one of the oldest and biggest open air markets in Europe. We are also close to the quaint and bucolic Primrose Hill as well as Highgate Village.

And yet our street is very tranquil and quiet, so will suit people coming both an urban experience and a gentler one or both at the same time. We also have a fair knowledge of the area so would be delighted to leave a comprehensive list of things to do in the area.
