Our home

Our home is located in leafy Merton park, Wimbledon, with its tree lined roads and large gardens. It's quiet and very spacious, suited to, adults and children alike. We are very close to public transportation (tram, bus and tube) and Central London is very easy to reach. Our house is detached and has its own drive (although you won't necessarily need a car as we are very close to public transport). We have 2 double bedrooms ( one with an ensuite) and 3 large single bedrooms ( one in the loft) with varoius pull out mattresses for extra sleeping. Our garden is very large for London and children enjoy playing football and other sports there, we also have a trampoline and an outdoor seating area. On the main floor of our house we have a very large open plan space which includes the kitchen, dining room and a family area with stereo and TV. Our kitchen is modern with all up to date mod cons, our dining table seats between 8-14. Our house is light and airy, warm and inviting!

Property features

Who we are

  1. Our family of 5 is composed of 3 teenagers and myself and my husband. I am a teacher and my husband is a project manager of a building company. We have lived in our house for about 9'years and renovated it ourselves. We love the open plan kitchen dining area and this is where we all often hang out (the two teenage boys are usually raiding the fridge!!) In summer our garden becomes an extension of our home with the patio doors opening up onto our large lawned area and we enjoy eating outside as often as we can !! We have travelled a lot as a family, mostly to Europe ( Italy and Greece and also skiing in France and Switzerland ) and also to Canada and the USA. We have not done a house exchange yet but did let our house out this summer while we were away and this was a positive experience!!

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Wimbledon is a lovely area of London with a real community feel. The lovely Wimbledon common is a fantastic open space where you can enjoy some lovely walks. Wimbledon town centre offers good shopping and lots of good restaurants. Wimbledon Village has a real, chic feel with it's boutiques and trendy coffee shops. And of course there is the Wimbledon tennis club for all the tennis enthusiasts. You can walk to wimbledon from our house ( 20 minutes) or catch a bus or the tram ( both stops are 2 minute walk from our house.)
To reach London from our house you can either take a train from wimbledon ( Waterloo station in 15 minutes) or the underground ( 7 minutes walk to the stop, 20 minutes to Victoria Station). Of course everyone knows the famous sights of London, and the amazing museums and parks one can visit there, not to mention the shopping and restaurants!! If you have a car you can also reach places like Stonehenge or Stratford on Avon ( home of Shakespeare) in about 1and a half hours.
