KEEN TO SWAP IN MID AUGUST 2019. SOMEWHERE NEAR A LIVELY BEACH BEST. NO APARTMENTS UNLESS LARGE/SPECIAL AND WITH OUTSIDE SPACE. SORRY TO BE FUSSY.
We live in a 1840s Grade 2 listed house which is on a large, beautiful and very quiet Georgian square. We have one of the largest gardens in the district beautifully long with well stocked flower beds and very quiet. We have an east facing front which means the house is very light in the mornings on one side, and that the sun sets in the garden on the West. We have four and a half floors covering 2500 square feet with four bedrooms which can accommodate up to 7 people, depending on the make up of your travelling party. We renovated and updated this house several years ago and constantly update it. We have the most beautiful open German style kitchen occupying the whole of the ground floor. In the winter, the house is very warm, including under floot heating in the kitchen. We also have solar panels for the summer. We are a very musical family - all the children play instruments and you are welcome to use either of two upright pianos in the house.
We are looking for properties that will easily accommodate our quite large family of four children who are now aged 21, 18, 15 and 13. We do not want to fly somewhere to spend our holiday in anything which is less nice and smaller than the home we are offering to swap. We are NOT interested in swopping our house for an apartment or a flat. It's not because we don't like flats, it's because our family is too large for anything other than a house. Big attractions for us are sunshine, swimming pools, access to nice amenities such as beaches, tennis courts and other activities which might interest our sporty children, buzzy destinations. It also helps a lot if we can borrow your car although we cannot offer one in return as we don't own one. Our house is in the centre of London and you won't need a car to get about as there is so much public transport and driving/parking is a nightmare. You will thank us for this advice and save money.
I am a film maker and my wife is an author, broadcaster and journalist. We travel widely with our jobs as well as with our children. We have a small border terrier dog although he normally goes to the country if we are away.
We really do welcome people to our home and as experienced swappers are very well used to receiving guests and also treat properties we use with due respect.

We love outdoor activities, swimming pools, walking, golf, tennis, beaches, mountains and sunshine. We don't like fishing or sailing.
This is a very special place to live - it feels like you are in the country but you are just a short bus ride - or walk - from all the action that one of the greatest cities in the world can offer. The area is full of garden squares of which ours is the largest, including a swing park for small children. We are just a few minutes walk from the shops and a short bus ride or walk to Kings Cross St Pancras Station, the best connected transport hub in central London, including excellent links to all the major airports. We have a public swimming pool within a few minutes walk as well as public libraries and tennis courts within easy reach. You never get bothered by traffic on our square because there isn't any. We strongly recommend that you don't bring a car but if you insist then we can obtain private parking tickets for a supplement.
