Our flat is small but comfortable and quiet on a well known, well managed and sought after estate of mansion flats, surrounded by 12 acres of gardens. The square footage is actually bigger than stated as there is no option for this in the box, it is 487 square feet. It has one bedroom with a double bed and en suite bathroom, the living room is a good size with the kitchen semi open plan, it has a large table, sofa bed, a selection of books mainly literature and art, and a varied choice of music. We are very fortunate to have such amazing gardens it is a very special place to live. The Estate staff are very friendly and helpful. It has excellent transport with a selection of buses stopping outside the gate and the train and tube within 10 mins walk or a short bus ride away, the river is also easily reached by bus or on foot, and central London is accessible due to the excellent transport links.
I retired 3 years ago, and my passions are painting, playing golf and bridge. Both my son and daughter live and work in New York, and my son has just made me a grandmother for the first time, so in order that I see as much as possible of my grandaughter, I am hoping to visit New York a couple of times a year, preferably Spring and Autumn for between 2 weeks and a month each time, I want to get to know NY like a local, I would like it to be accessible to transport and have a lift.
Putney is a popular area with a metropolitan feel, on the Thames. It has an excellent transport network, and is within easy distance of Wimbledon Common, and Richmond Park, Central London is close enough for shopping, Museums, Art Galleries, Theatre etc. but we also have the lovely Wimbledon Village, Barnes, Richmond and East Sheen to choose from. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, but again the bus could take you door to door to a lot of the best known central locations.
