Avalon is a comfortable 4 bedroom house in the beautiful Dartmoor national park. Downstairs there is a large comfortable sitting room with dining room attached, another large room with sofas and piano. We have lots of original paintings as this is something we like to collect, none of them very valuable, but all good. There is a well equipped kitchen. There is a downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, all can be doubles if necessary. There is a family bathroom, with shower over the bath, and an ensuite shower and toilet in one of the bedrooms. Outside is a sunny garden with plenty of seating to eat outdoors. I have an office in the garden with lots of books, particularly about the theatre. The house is in easy access to the moors, ten minute drive, and the seaside, twenty minute drive. 30 minutes from Exeter Airport, and from the ancient town of Exeter. The historic towns of Bovey Tracey and Totnes are a short drive away, too. Fantastic location for exploring some of the loveliest countryside in England.
We are a professional couple with grown up children. Im an actor and training consultant, my wife works for a young persons charity. We are just starting to do home exchanges and looking forward to exploring new places. As we live in the countryside, a holiday in a city would make a great change.
Martin will be 60 this year and Charlotte will be 52; our three girls, Molly, 22, just finishing professional dance training at a conservertoire in England, Florence, 21, a very experienced traveller and off to university to study mandarin this year, and Martha, 17, off to university to study politics and sociology. So you can see, we are quite an interesting family. We are respectful of other people’s homes, and are happy to look after the owners pets whilst staying there.
We enjoy art galleries, museums, old towns and cities as well as relaxing by the sea in local cafes and restaurants.
Right in the heart of Dartmoor National park, but minutes away from the A38 road so within easy access to Exeter, Plymouth and other towns. Liverton is a quiet village, the nearest shop is one mile away, and the nearest small town three miles away. It nestles in the wooded hills of south Dartmoor. Nearby interesting towns are Totnes, with many historic buildings and lots of places to eat, Ashburton, a very pretty country town with lots of antique and gift shops, Bovey Tracey, ba typical English country town, which has a lovely craft shop.
