Our home

Our home (in County Fermanagh) is 8 miles from the villages of Kesh and Belleek and 3 miles from Pettigo (County Donegal).

It is a modern comfortable house set in its own grounds and garden on an elevated site with spectacular views over Lough Erne. The house consists of a living room, sun room, kitchen, dining room, office, bathroom with bath and shower, two bedrooms upstairs each with their own bathroom.

The house is centrally heated and the living room also has a multi fuel stove. There is satellite TV, DVD player, broadband and wi-fi. The fully fitted kitchen has all of the modern conveniences. This includes dishwasher, oven, grill, microwave, hob, fridge, rayburn cooker and television. The utility room has a sink, washing machine and tumble dryer and the sunroom overlooks the garden and lough. Doors open onto a patio area with BBQ. There is a large outdoor space.

Please note that for 2019 we require a home with a bedroom on the ground floor and a shower rather than a bath. Thank you.

Who we are

  1. Our family consists of Mervyn (60) retired school Principal, Adele (slightly younger!) and two grown up children who have moved out of home (phew!). As we are both retired we are flexible as to when we can exchange. ** Please note we require a home with disability access i.e. a bedroom on the ground floor (or a lift) and a walk in shower rather than a shower over a bath. Adele can manage a few steps but not stairs.**

We really enjoy home exchanges and have had many happy times all over the world (with more than 45 very successful exchanges). We require a home with a bedroom on ground level and a walk in shower would be ideal as Adele is recovering from a stroke.
Please be assured that we will treat your home and possessions with respect. We have a small dog (a shih tsu) who can be looked after by our son if you prefer. We prefer to swap cars as well if possible but please note that drivers have to be under 70 years of age to be accommodated on our insurance. Two friends may accompany us if that is ok with our swap partners.

  2. Mervyn played football for many years and after taking early retirement in 2015 took up golf and now can't get enough of it!! Adele has also taken early retirement. She was, for years, involved with the Brownies but retired in 2017 after almost 30 years.

  3. Looking for a swap to Europe including England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We live between the lovely villages of Kesh and Belleek, set in rural County Fermanagh, in the north west of Ireland and 3 miles from Pettigo in County Donegal. We enjoy unspoilt and beautiful views over Lough Erne - the largest inland waterway in Europe and are 25 minutes from the Wild Atlantic Way. There is plenty to do and see in Fermanagh - Belleek Pottery, Castle Archdale, Marble Arch caves, County town of Enniskillen with the award winning Ardhowen theatre, National Trust properties such as CastleCoole, Crom and Florencecourt, ruins of castles, pony trekking, golf (Donegal Golf Club and Lough Erne Golf Resort/Castle Hume), fishing, water sports and walking (forests, beaches and the Cuilcagh Legnabrocky trail). If this is not enough to keep you occupied our home is also ideally situated to tour the rest of Northern Ireland - the Titanic exhibition (voted the world's number 1 tourist attraction in 2016) , Giant's Causeway, Bushmills distillery, Sperrin mountains, Ulster American Folk Park. We also live 10 kilometres from County Donegal and close to Sligo and the west of Ireland. Belfast is 1.5 hours by car and 3 hours to Dublin.
