“We have recently had a wonderful holiday in Pete and Heather's lovely home, from our communication before, the lunch on arrival giving us the chance to meet and the location of their home everything was perfect. Their home is so comfortable and relaxing with everything you need for a great holiday, the glass stairs and the lighting are just amazing, if you can work it out. Located in a village with a shop and pub within walking distance and just a two mile drive into the lovely seaside town of Swanage, the surrounding areas also have many attractions for all the family. Many thanks to Pete and Heather for agreeing to the exchange and it would be great if the chance arises to return it the future. ”

Our home
We have a beautiful fully refurbished bungalow on the picturesque Purbeck peninsular in Dorset with views across the water to the Isle of Wight. The typically British holiday town of Swanage is just 2 miles away with shops, restaurants, pier with a new cafe, seafront and sandy beach.
We have luxury accommodation comprising four double bedrooms, three of which would be available for guests. We have a spacious ground floor family bathroom with bath and walk in shower, a second modern shower room downstairs and two further ensuite bathrooms to the upstairs bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a utility room off the spacious kitchen/diner, living room with wood burner and a study. Open tread glass stairs are not suitable for small children.
The front and rear gardens have been landscaped and there is a patio area where you can barbeque or eat al fresco. You can relax with a glass of wine while soaking in a hot tub, or sit in the newly built summer house.

Who we are
-
We are an active couple, early 60's who have done several successful house swaps. Pete is a retired builder and has spent 4 years modernising and extending our house (now finished - phew!). Heather is a retired teacher, member of a local church, and we both do some voluntary work. Our hobbies include scuba diving and photography (below and above water!) and Heather enjoys gardening. Our children have grown up and we are now fortunate to have the time to enjoy exploring other countries.
We'll consider anywhere. We can do non simultaneous exchanges if preferred.

Your neighbourhood
Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rolling hills, we are a fifteen minute walk to the Jurassic coast – great for fossil and dinosaur fans! Many holiday makers visit the area to soak up the outstanding views, walks and local scenery. We even have a campsite at the end of our road!
We live in a quiet road within a friendly rural village of Langton Matravers. Within a five minute stroll you will find the local shop and pub serving excellent ales and home cooked food. The village boasts a small museum, a parish church and a children’s adventure farm.
We are two miles from the popular seaside resort of Swanage which surrounds a beautiful curved bay. You can enjoy the soft sand and the award winning beach front whilst being surrounded by Purbeck’s natural beauty and wildlife.
Swanage has many attractions including the pier, the beach, watersports and diving, boat trips, amusement arcades, beach gardens, heritage centre and Swanage steam railway. There is also the Purbeck Way walking route and South West Coast Path to explore Purbeck's countryside and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
One of the area’s greatest attractions, Durlston County Park, is also adjacent to the town. This is a large National Nature Reserve with lots of activities for children plus it is one of the best bird and dolphin watching areas in the country.
Nearby is the historic town of Corfe Castle where you can visit one of England's most majestic ruins. It was once the controlling fortress through the Purbeck Hills and the ruins now boast beautiful views over the English countryside and plenty of activities for children in the school holidays. The town of Corfe Castle is on the steam railway route from Swanage and has many attractions like the model village, local museum and historic pubs serving delicious refreshments.
