“A lovely, large modern home that we thoroughly enjoyed. We were two senior couples and appreciated the two full bathrooms along with very comfortable bedrooms. We cooked all our meals in the fully equipped kitchen. A beautiful view from the house. We recommend a car as this is not at all easy by public transit. Kirkwall itself was delightful with a good grocery store, coffee shops and restaurants. The neolithic sites in Orkney were outstanding. Adrian and Andrea helped us out by providing a local friend to pick us up at the airport making us feel welcome and loved after. We had a problem with the heating system and they handled it all very quickly and effectively all the way from Canada! Thank you. We'd absolutely recommend this house and hosts. ”

“We arrived on Orkney during an "Indian summer" that left unseasonably warm and calm weather till late October. The comfortable home with generous owners formed the backdrop for a brilliant stay on this lovely group of islands. We explored the ancient and modern history, walked along stunning coastal cliffs and enjoyed the hospitality of the local hotels. We were lucky to see the first gale of the season the day before we left. The exchange car was made available to us in Edinburgh allowing us to have a trip through the Scottish Highlands before catching the ferry to Stromness. On our return home it was a pleasure to find our house in as good if not better than we left it. We felt immediately at home and comfortable and would highly recommend Andrea and Adrian's home for an exchange.”

Your neighbourhood
The Orkney Islands are a beautiful and fascinating place with a wealth of historical, cultural and natural attractions.
For the outdoor enthusiasts there are walks, tours, cycling and some of the best wild trout fishing in Britain.
Orkney is also noted for its bird life. There are huge colonies of sea birds and moorland species eg hen harriers and red throated divers.
The numerous beaches are beautiful and uncrowded.
Trips to some of the outer islands can be made by frequent ferry services or by plane. The mainland is reached by ferry or direct flights to Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
