Our home

Ours is a modern, newly renovated and decorated house in a lovely quiet, safe close with Richmond Park a mere stone's throw away. The house is well lit, lovely and cool in summer and warm in winter, with underfloor heating on the ground floor. The kitchen is spacious with great appliances, including a massive fridge and oven. The house has all mod cons, wooden floors everywhere except the limestone floor in the kitchen and hall, and is well loved. It has a master bedroom, two other bedrooms on the top floor and a sofa bed in the study. It also has a large living room with cable TV (the windows overlooking the park) a modern bathroom and shower room, a small kids' art room and a lovely raised decking area in the private garden, where squirrels, foxes and parakeets from Richmond Park often appear.

Who we are

  1. We are Matt and Juliette, a couple with a lovely, placid six-year-old daughter, Smilla. Matt works as a cricket publisher and Juliette is studying for a PhD in design history. We love reading, travelling and other nice things! We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try it out. Initially we would like to get to Melbourne for Christmas to see England's cricketers try and retain the Ashes. After that, the world's our oyster.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The area is ideal for kids, walking, shopping, golf and other sports, and visiting London (25 minutes straight into Waterloo from nearby Norbiton Station). In the next road is a stables, with horses trotting daily down to Richmond Park.

Nearby, apart from the vast expanses of Richmond Park, with its herds of roaming deer, are the River Thames, Ham House, Syon Butterfly Park, Kew Gardens, plenty of other National Trust properties, and Twickenham Rugby Stadium.

Within easy travel distance either by car or train are Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, and several Premiership football clubs.

The area is great for shopping, with Kingston (which also boasts lively night-life, cinemas, restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs and a leisure centre), Richmond just the other side of the park and central London just half an hour away. There are also a number of cafes and shops within easy walking distance of the house.
