Our home

We live in a beautiful 5 bedroom semi-detached family home in Kingston upon Thames, in Surrey, built in the 1890’s, and totally refurbished in 2009.
The house consists of:
Downstairs – Living room, breakfast room, kitchen/dining room and downstairs WC.
1st Floor – Double Master Bedroom, Double bedroom, Bathroom (with bath and shower), and nursery.
2nd Floor – Double bedroom, Single bedroom, Bathroom (with shower)
There is also a brick BBQ in the garden.

The house sleeps 7 people comfortably, however there is also a sofa bed in the downstairs breakfast room if you require more sleeping area!

We also have an extremely beautiful, very friendly cat which we are afraid you cannot take with you when you go! But if you don’t like cats/want to feed him – our neighbours will!!

Who we are

We are Rik (Sales Manager), Sophie (Teacher) and Amelie (2 year old daughter). We are able to swap in summer school holidays only (23rd July to 31st August, 2013) due to Sophie’s job, and are interested in somewhere near a beach. We would love to be able to be somewhere where we didn’t have to use a car all the time.
We look after our house extremely well, and we would like to think that we would look after your house as well as you would. Our neighbours are extremely friendly, and if you weren’t able to get hold of us (for example due to time difference) then they would be more than happy to help.
We have previously exchanged with a family in France.

We live 5mins walk from the River Thames,
a 10 minute walk into Kingston Town centre (http://www.kingston.gov.uk/browse/leisure/tourism/things_to_do.htm),
and a 15 minute walk to Richmond park (http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/richmond-park) which is the largest of the 8 London parks
The centre of London in only 28 minutes away by train, and the trains run every 15 minutes throughout the day – (the cost of a 1 day travel card is £8.50)
Within easy driving distance is Hampton Court (10 mins), Richmond (10mins), Kew Gardens (20mins), and 2 Theme Parks - Chessington World of Adventures http://www.chessington.com/ (25mins) and Thorpe Park http://www.thorpepark.com/ (25mins)
Kingston upon Thames is an upmarket suburb with lots of green space, the riverside with boat rides to Hampton Court and Richmond (http://www.turks.co.uk/river-trips) and a beautiful market square in Greater London. There is a cinema, bowling, lots of boutique shopping, bars and restaurants/clubs
Kingston upon Thames is about 30 minutes from Heathrow, and 45 minutes from Gatwick (dependant on time of day)
