Our home

Well equipped, suburban family home. 4 bedrooms. Modern, fairly minimalist design. Wood floors throughout ground-floor, Carpets upstairs. Super-king size bed in master-bedroom (very tall husband).Contemporary, excellent new kitchen with granite surfaces and limestone floors. Very large utility room. Good garden with swing and climbing frame. Fantastic, helpful neighbours on all sides. Broadband available. Excellent train service into London.. 15 mins on fast train..station 10 min walk.We near to Hampton court palace, Kew gardens (world heritage site), Windsor castle not far. Kingston shopping centre 1.5 miles...one of best in country. Sea approx one hour drive. Only disadvantage as we see it is that we are on a (not very busy) main road, though fortunately, well-screened by trees. We have one well behaved/language-learning 9 year old girl, so well equipped for a child. We can provide equipment for other age ranges though. Open to offers though we need to travel in UK school holidays as husband is a teacher.

Property features

Who we are

  1. Mum, Carolyn, a work from home Osteopath with a secondary-school,deputy-headmaster husband. Nine year old daughter, Lara. Happy, enthusiastic family who love to travel and make all good attempts with whatever language we encounter. We love music, books, film, art and good food...this is reflected in the house. We are a non-smoking house but have no problem with our guests and friends smoking in the garden! Our house is well furnished and well appointed but have no 'objet' of great value you would need worry over breakage!! Note...as of Aug 07 we have just returned from our 1st (and highly successful) swap (Languedoc)and look forward to the next.

Nearest beach...Brighton...50 mins by car. Lots of childrens activities nearby. Great, multi-ethnic choice of restaurants close at hand. Heathrow 20 mins drive. Gatwick 35 mins drive. Ferries and tunnel approx 75 mins drive. Luton and Stansted Airports about 90 minutes away. Many great neighbours and friends nearby if any queries during stay. Many local parks and pretty River Thames walks half a mile away. Chessington World of Adventures , one of largest theme parks in the U.K is only 3 K.m from us and is indeed accessed by our local buses.
