Our home

Cornwallis Cottage is situated beside our own home. We use it as a holiday let, which has proved very popular. It is a spacious 2 bedroom cottage, surrounded by a large garden (too large). It has both a wood burning stove and an open fire. Upstairs there is both a bathroom and shower room, and outside, a walled courtyard with barbeque facilities and garden furniture on the front lawn.

We get a lot of returning customers who enjoy the cottage's peace and tranquility. Messages in our visitors book are always positive with comments including 'clean and comfortable''superb scenery''family friendly''a hidden gem'.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are Nancy and Derek, a marries couple with three children aged between ten and two. We both work in care, (care home manager and Nurse) and love to travel when work allows.

At home we enjoy peaceful country life and as well as owning a dog (who stays with family when we holiday) we have eight ex battery hens, and a goat called Katie.

We have never tried home exchange before but have been keen to get started for some, as we own two holiday lets, which we think would allow so much more flexibility in swapping.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The Cottage is five minutes walk away form breathtaking views of Lough Erne. Close to both Castle Archdale Country Park and Lower Lough Erne. Cornwallis lies 1.7 miles west of Kesh, our local village, 4.5 miles from Irvinestown and 20 minutes from our County Town Enniskillen, both a interesting place for shopping and eating.

We are only 45 minutes drive across the scenic Pettigo mountains to Donegal town and a similar distance to beaches at both Mullaghmore and Rossnowlagh.

Boats and bicycles can be hired at Castle Archdale and pony trekking is a popular option when exploring the area's unspoilt scenery. The area has a lot to offer, including several golf courses, National Trust properties, heritage sites and a lakeside theatre in Enniskillen.
