Our home

Our home is a first floor three bedroom flat, forming part of a lovely Victorian house, standing in a secluded rural position with approximately 5 acres of grounds.

The sitting room/dining room, kitchen/breakfast room and main bedroom are all spacious and sunny living areas, with high ceilings, large windows and beautiful views over the grounds and the surrounding countryside.

Our flat can sleep 4: the main bedroom has a king size bed and the twin room has two standard single beds. We use the third bedroom for storage. It will be locked.

The bathroom as a large bath and a separate walk-in shower, along with a sink and loo.

The kitchen has access to a large balcony which overlooks the orchard. The house stands in approximately 5 acres of shared garden, with grassy areas - suitable for relaxing and playing, ponds and wooded areas. There's access, via a gate in the fence,to a right of way which, if followed through the field, woods, over a stream, through some more woods, leads to the Cuckoo Walk and you can walk to Heathfield in one direction or down towards Eastbourne in the other. There's also a lovely walk from our house to Waldron village.

We have a cat, who will not be there (she will be staying in a cattery nearby). Although we keep our home clean and tidy, people with cat allergies may find this a problem.

Our flat is one of four flats.

A car is required.

Arrangements to have our cleaning lady come after or during your stay may be arranged.

Who we are

  1. We are Amanda and Alan (49 & 65).

We've been involved in two really enjoyable "homeforexchanges" arranged by our daughter and family. We are fairly well-travelled and love holidays. We are keen on experiencing new adventures in new places from a "home from home" base and exchanging our home with like-minded people.

I (Amanda) am an in-house solicitor and Alan is a retired teacher who, amongst other things, works for Eastbourne's Events Team on a casual basis.

We love our home and are considerate of other people's homes.

We are able to consider a non-simultaneous exchange for Christmas 2014.
