Our home

Our stone mid-terraced cottage is situated in the middle of a beautiful village in the Hope Valley in Derbyshire on a quiet private lane.
It has recently been completely refurbished to include a new open plan kitchen/living room and new bathroom.
There are two bedrooms – one double and one twin, and the twin has space for an additional bed if required (or there is a sofa bed in the living room).
There is a small patio and lawn.
A private parking space is located in a car park a couple of minutes walk from the cottage.

Who we are

  1. We are in our early fifties and plan to retire to our cottage as soon as possible! In the meantime, we work in the Sheffield area and visit as often as possible. We plan to use our cottage to give us the opportunity to visit other parts of the UK next Spring, with a view to extending our horizons in the near future….

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

In Hathersage there are shops, restaurants, pubs, and even an outdoor swimming pool in the summer season!
There are regular buses and trains into Sheffield and Manchester and the villages in between.
The area is extremely popular with hikers, rock climbers, pot holers, hang gliders, and people who just love to walk and/or visit the countryside and local amenities.
Blue John stone is still mined in ever smaller quantities from the local caves and jewellery made from this stone can be purchased in gift shops in the area.
