Our home

The apartment is located in a small development close to the centre of Harrogate (10 mins walk). The immediate neighbourhood (top of the road) is also well-served with food shops, cafes & pubs. The apartments have been designed for retirees - it does mean we have an excellent lift & ample private parking plus there's usually someone about to give helpful advice ! The flat has 2 double bedrooms., an open plan lounge/ diner/kitchen & bathroom with shower.

The bungalow is situated in Long Ashes Park http://www.longashespark.co.uk/more-about-us near Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales and about 40km from Harrogate. It also has two bedrooms plus the usual additional rooms and surrounding gardens with views towards the fells. Grassington (3km) has a range of local shops and cafes and is a popular base for visitors to the dales.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Harrogate was a Victorian spa town, still very popular with tourists today, with gardens & parks, theatres & cinemas, loads of restaurants plus a good selection of shops http://www.harrogate.gov.uk/harrogate-266

Close by are numerous places to visit including the historic towns of Knaresborough, Ripon & York. The stately homes and gardens of Ripley Castle, Newby Hall, Beningborough Hall, Harewood House plus the ruins of Fountains Abbey are all within a 20 km ride.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/about-the-dales is a great place for walking, also cycling (if you don't mind hills) plus there are plenty of local village pubs to be visited. and the market towns of Skipton and Settle are both nearby. Skipton stands on the Leeds to Liverpool canal so lots of narrowboats pass through in the summer.
