Our home

Our house is not luxurious but is very comfortable. The garden is a quiet haven - perfect for reading and relaxing in the shade, or evening barbeques. We also have a roof terrace which is hot and sunny and great for relaxing at the end of a day in hectic London. The living room has the usual tv and dvd and also Broadband access. The kitchen is large and well equipped. Its a kitchen for feeding and entertaining your friends, and looking out onto the garden it is also the most attractive and well used space in the house.! The two bedrooms are very spacious, uncluttered and airy and have very big double beds. We also have a variety of camp beds and matresses for friends to sleep over. They are on the first and second floors. The bathroom is large with shower and a luxurious bath to soak in after a day of walking around London. The whole house is very light.

Who we are

  1. We are two friends sharing the house. We work in the city and have lived in the house for 12 years. We are keen cyclists and enjoy all the wonderful things in our neighbourhood. Our house will be available over Easter and from 20 April to 4 May. We are looking for a house in Spain or Greece for September/October. We are regular swappers.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

London is of course a fantastic city, and Hackney is near the centre. It is well connected with buses and near Liverpool Street Station which is great for the underground and also trains to the countryside. If you ever wanted to leave this fantastic city, we are near all the major railway stations. And we have books and maps for day trips to cycle or walk outside London. Hackney has good markets, shops and restaurants - everything is on offer whether you want fine dining or cheap eats. The area we live in is very multicultural - Turkish, Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants are excellent and cheap. And there are some great bars and pubs close by. Clubs and nightlife are a bus ride away. There are local parks and canals for walking and children. Also cinemas and theatre walking distance from here. The major sites - Tower Bridge, St Pauls and the British Museum are 15 minutes by bus. Despite all this, our immediate area is residential and the neighbourhood is friendly and safe. It is not at all touristy and you will certainly get a feel of the real London!
