Our home

Our home was built at the end of the 19th century for workers on the estate of the Earl of Onslow. It is situated on Addison Road in the heart of the Charlotteville Conservation Area of Guildford. Pewley Down is just a stone's throw away, and Guildford town centre a short walk (a brisk five minutes or leisurely ten!) We have lovingly restored the house over recent years, updating the facilities whilst retaining its period features. The house, arranged over three floors, is spacious and well-appointed, with a drawing room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, three double bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a laundry, and a brick-vaulted garden room, which opens onto the rear garden.

  1. Mike and I are both teachers. We love visiting beautiful villages and towns, especially enjoying good food and wine, and browsing local markets, as well as cultural pursuits.

Your neighbourhood

Guildford is the historic county town of Surrey, one of the most beautiful and prosperous regions in England. The town and local area boast a wealth of historic sites, from beautiful churches and castles to numerous National Trust properties and quaint, picture-postcard villages. Guildford and the surrounding area are in the Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and our home is just yards away from the North Downs. Guildford also boasts a thriving cultural life, with two theatres, many local amateur and professional ensembles, and a series of well-supported concerts and productions. The town is also well connected to other places of interest, including: ? 35mins by train to London ? 60mins by car to the coast ? 60mins by car to Brighton ? 90mins by car to Oxford and the Cotswolds. In a nutshell, you are well-placed to enjoy a quintessentially English holiday, with something to appeal to everyone, from the bright lights of London to the locally-brewed beer in characterful pubs.
