Our home

This rural, spacious, family home has four bedrooms and usually sleeps five, it can also sleep seven with ease due to two pull-out beds turning two of the single bedrooms into twin rooms. The master bedroom has an emperor sized bed and an en-suite bathroom. The ground floor has a large light living room with an HD 40" TV, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and music room with piano. The garden is private and enclosed with decked dining areas and trampoline and swings. There is plenty of parking space on the drive and bikes in the garage. We have a dog and the garden is secure with walks from the house. The dog does not go upstairs or on the furniture. Ideally we would take him with us - or possibly leave him if you want the added bonus of dog walks !

Who we are

  1. We are Patrick and Kate and have three children and a dog so love to holiday where there are good walks and preferably a view of the sea. Dad Patrick works for the BBC and Mum works part time, two teenage girls and a 13 year old boy are at school. We have house swapped with friends several times and it has always worked well so house swapped using this site and it could not have worked better. ( children have visited independently subsequently) We love the sea and swimming and to hang out where the locals do. Ideally there would be places to visit nearby but we really want to relax together. We are tied to the school holidays so could swap between the 23rd July - 4th September and would like to do 10 days to two weeks ideally. Or half term 24th October for a week .We are near Stansted airport.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are lucky to be in a quiet rural location with countryside walks, a village pub, a popular restaurant and a village shop all on our doorstep. There is a train station in the village. This means visiting sites in the area is very easy with central London about an hour away by train. Historic Cambridge is 10 minutes away and there is something for everyone there - majestic university colleges, punting on the river Cam, shopping, restaurants and museums.

Duxford Air Museum is five minutes away and easy cycling if you want to go by bike. The English heritage house Audley end is a 20 minute drive away and is well worth a visit.

Stansted airport is 30 minutes drive away so is ideal - we have car swapped at the airport previously and saved on airport parking so would be happy to do that if it suits.
