Our home

Our home is an end of terrace family house with garden, deck, garage and fantastic views over Glasgow.

We have 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and an additional "cosy" loft bedroom. The ground floor has been totally remodeled and is open plan with dining, kitchen and living room all-together. You can choose to dine at the dining table or the more casual option of the breakfast bar.

The dining area opens out on to a wooden deck for all fresco dining in the summer months( you may want to use our barbecue too!).

All bedrooms and main bathroom are on the first floor.

The garden backs on to a quiet lane (no traffic) where our children often ride their bikes.

The house retains many of its original features from the 1930's including stained glass and fireplaces.

We have Cable TV with screens in 4 rooms, Hi Speed Wi Fi throughout the house (and deck), i pod dock/speaker (x2) and CD Music system in the Lounge. We also have a vast library of Movies - both kids and adults - to watch.

5 Bikes and 2 Scooters would be made available for you to use on the canal path at the foot of the hill (this takes you all the way to Loch Lomond - a good afternoons cycle!)

Who we are

  1. We are Caron and Donald and have 2 lovely kids (in our opinion!), Summer (11) and Finn (8). We are in our mid forties and really enjoy the chance to travel with our family.

Caron has recently re-trained to become a Primary School Teacher and I work for a Home Letting Company. As Caron can now take an extended Summer Vacation, we are keen to use the time to take our kids to see other places. Our situation also allows us to travel to the U.S. cheaply, so that may be our preference.

We have now had 2 highly successful exchanges with families in North Carolina and Colorado and have really caught the bug for vacationing this way.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Situated in a quiet residential area, we are ideally located for both town and country. Glasgow City Centre which boasts tremendous shopping, nightlife, bars, theatre, music and dining is only 2 miles away (10 mins by car).

Glasgows West End is also a thriving shopping and nightlife area and is a 15 minute walk away as is Kelvingrove Art Galleries and The Botanical Gardens.

Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is only 30 minutes drive.

The Forth and Clyde Canal and cycle/walking path is about 200m away.

Braehead Shopping and Leisure Centre, Scotlands largest indoor shopping and entertainment complex is also a 10 minute drive away.

If you wanted to see Edinburgh and The Castle, it would take just over an hour to drive. Stirling Castle is also within an hours journey.

If you are a Golf enthusiast, there is no shortage of top quality courses nearby. If you wanted to play on a Championship Course then Troon and Turnberry are within an hours drive. St. Andrews is about 100 minutes. It will host the British Open Championships in July 2015 and 2020.

A train station linking to the City Centre is 2 minutes walk.

We also have a local shop for household essentials that would only take 2 minutes to walk to.
