Our home

Our house is cosy enough for two but large enough for our family to come and stay. Two bedrooms have kingsize beds, with an ensuite to the main bedroom . One bedroom has a double bed and the fourth bedroom has a truckle bed which converts to a double if required. There is a family bathroom. Our dining room will seat eight, although we've managed ten or more with grandchildren! We have a large sunny lounge with wall mounted fire, an office and downstairs toilet. A good sized kitchen with double oven and a utility room. Centrally heated throughout. We have a lovely open view to the front across a large playing field and have good fun watching the local village football matches at weekends. To the rear of the property we have a small enclosed sunny garden with two patio areas for alfresco dining. Double garage.

Who we are

  1. We are Richard and Liz and have been retired for a few years now. Richard was an independent financial adviser and Liz was a customer service manager with a large financial institution. Our children left home long ago and are living in the UK and Australia so now we like to spend our time travelling and seeing new places. We enjoy walking, cycling, snorkelling and golf. We love meeting people and making new friends. We've previously enjoyed some wonderful exchanges, discovered places we never planned to visit and made lots of friends along the way.

We have already organised our exchanges for 2017 to Australia to visit family so now open to any offers in the UK or Europe for 2018.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Windmills, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight; Lincoln Cathedral (one of the finest medieval buildings in Europe) which has one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta on display. Stamford (one of the finest stone towns in England) and nearby Burghley House. The Lincolnshire Wolds (an area of outstanding natural beauty. All wonderful things to discover in the surrounding area. Fishtoft itself is a small village about 3 miles from the centre of the historic market town of Boston. The town is famous for it's St Botolph's church with it's 271' tower (the tallest non-cathedral church tower in the world) known as 'The Stump'. It is also the place from which the 'Pilgrim Fathers' set sail for their new life in America in 1608. We have some wonderful National Cycle trails (two cycles included in exchange) and it's not necessary to be terribly fit as it is quite flat around here. If you fancy something more strenuous then The Peak District National Park is only a couple of hours away. There is a regular bus service into Boston from Fishtoft and rail links from Boston to London, the Midlands and the North. Major international airports - Heathrow 130 miles/Birmingham 82 miles and for European and internal flights Stansted 75 miles - East Midlands 70 miles - Humberside 56 miles. London 120miles.
