Our home

Caervallack is a particularly beautiful and soulful Farmhouse on the Lizard peninsular near the Helford river. The house was first mentioned in a legal document of 1273, and contains medieval door frames and floor joists, two huge inglenook fireplaces, a warm oil fired Aga and a contemporary glazed dining room onto a Japanese style courtyard. We are told that the Gardens are breathtaking - they amount to about 3/4 of an acre and include an Orchard, a bridge and a succession of garden rooms bordered by either earth walls or yew hedges.

Inside the farmhouse there is a modern Dining room with sliding glass wall onto the South facing courtyard, a galley style kitchen with oil fired aga and then two casual rooms - the smaller computer/TV room with oak beams and inglenook and the larger Lounge with huge inglenook and comfy sofas.
Upstairs are 4 bedrooms all unique and on a different floor levels. Adjascent to the farmhouse is our "holiday cottage" with an ensuite double bedroom upstairs and kitchen/dining room downstairs.

There is your own private drive.
As this is an Ancient house, headheight is about 6'3"(1.875m) with some door frames lower than that.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The lizard peninsula is regarded by many as the most beautiful in Cornwall. It is a unique geological zone that includes the Helford river (a tidal river with tree lined creeks) and a plethora of Coves and beaches all a short drive away (about 15 minutes: Poldhu Cove; Church Cove; Coverack; Kynance Cove). One can walk in any direction and find peace, beauty and trees.

Its a fantastic place for food too -we are getting better at food: 5 minutes walk to the left and you can purchase fresh fish from Kernowsuishimi; 5 minutes to the right is Gear farm shop selling organic pasties and home made bread. There are three fine restaurant/pubs within 8 minutes drive from the House.
