Our home

My home is an attractive, spacious, detached house, which has been recently extended and decorated and provides excellent access to Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, London, and most parts of the UK.

It is in a quiet cul-de-sac, within five minutes walk of the centre of Abingdon on Thames, where you will find shops, coffee shops, a museum and a wide range of facilities. There is a sports and tennis centre and swimming pool five minutes away by car. Excellent walks and countryside are close by, as is Oxford for those who prefer shops and culture. I also have a hot-tub, provide you are happy to look after it!

I am also able to offer a small flat in the Alps in the lovely skiing village of La Chapelle D'Abondance - just contact me if you would like further details.

Who we are

  1. I am an active, retired person who enjoys skiing, golf, swimming and walking, as well as theatre, cinema, opera and eating out. My son, daughter-in law and three grandchildren live in Yarraville, Melbourne and the intention of my visit is to spend time with them. A non-simultaneous exchange might be possible, as might other visits to other places.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Abingdon is a medium sized town (population 35,000)on the River Thames, with a good range of facilities both in the town and nearby. Oxford is eight miles away and there are good train links from there and Didcot to most parts of the UK. There is also a frequent bus service from Oxford to London (approx 90 minutes)
The house is in a quiet and friendly street and overlooks a cricket/rugby pitch at the back. We have a garden, barbecue and paved terrace as well as outside table and chairs.
