Our home

The house is a listed building, over 200 years old stone built terraced property. Has a large secluded rear garden and small formal front garden. We have lived in the house for almost 25 years, having restored the building and turned it into our home.
There is a large conservatory, which serves as a dining room and opens out onto the garden.
We have brought up our four children here, so it is a family house not a museum piece!Traditionally furnished and comfortable.

Who we are

We are a long time married couple with four children, only one of whom are still at home - Sam our youngest at 13 years old.
I am a town planner by profession, but now work for a historic building preservation trust.
My wife works in social care, working with people with physical disabilities.
We are goingon vacation to New York at the end of June 06 and would love to house swap - though appreciate it is short notice. For other holidays/ destinations we are quite flexible.
We have no pets and don't smoke.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The house is located in the historic Edinburgh New Town/Stockbridge area. It is a safe attractive neighbourhood, close to the city centre, but also close to the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens and a large park. There are many nice restaurants and shops in the area. A car is not necessary as there is good public transport and it is within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street.
