Who we are

  1. We are Henry and Elanne both in our early fifties with a young daughter Fiona who is 11. We own a pharmacy in a small village in Fife. We enjoy a wide range of holidays, from relaxing on a beach to busy city centre breaks. We are keen on cycling, kayaking and walking and love discovering small local cafes away from the main tourist spots. The Edinburgh flat is a second property and will be avaliable from 27th December 2010 to around 3rd January 2011 and from 1st June 2011 to 31st August 2011. It would not need to be a simultaneous exchange. Please e-mail if you are interested.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

The flat is situated in the Morningside area of Edinburgh which is a lovely leafy suburb to the south of the city centre. Below the flat is a well-stocked corner shop supplying a wide range of essential food and drink. A short walk (5mins) takes you to the main shoping area of the neighbourhood offering excellent artisan shops:- bakers, cheese shop. fish shop, delicatessans, larger supermarkets etc. If you do not want to cook the same neighbourhood has some excellent take-aways covering most tastes and superb atmospheric cafes, pubs and retaurants. Close to the flat is Braidburn Park and a short distance away is Blackburn Hill for a more energetic walk and terrific views over Edinburgh. The centre of Edinburgh is 3 to 4 Kms away and the flat is on a very good bus route.
Edinburgh has 4 days of celebrations over the New Year with street party, concert, fireworks etc. (www.edinburghshogmanay.com).
For the whole of the summer time Edinburgh comes alive but for the month of August it is absolutely buzzing with the Edinburgh Fetival (http://www.eif.co.uk/)and the Festival Fringe (http://www.edfringe.com/). The city offers world class galleries, museums and theatre.
