Our home

Our family home is a semi-detached, stone house. The street is extremely quiet. We have a large garden facing due west, a patio, table and chairs.

Our house has two double bedrooms and a single bedroom. There is one bathroom and one shower room. There is also a baby bedroom. We have free on street parking.

It is a very light and airy house with a terrace, which is a sun trap with sunshine from morning until dusk.

There is a large lawn, with a small 'orchard' beyond.

There is a small front garden and the house is set back from the road. There is almost no traffic during the day and night.

Who we are

  1. We are a quiet couple with a baby girl who will be eighteen months by summer 2011. My wife is a primary school teacher and I teach at Edinburgh University.

Our interests on holiday are: reading, museums, walking. We do not need television or computer but would like internet access.

We are looking for an exchange of three weeks in July 2011. We are very keen to go to the USA, but would also be interested in Europe, perhaps France or Italy or maybe Spain or even somewhere we haven't thought of. We would like to go somewhere warm and sunny!

Your neighbourhood

Our house is two miles from the city centre. There is a shopping centre with a large supermarket ten minutes walk.

A frequent bus service runs into town and other areas in the city from the nearby main road. It is a twenty minute bus ride in to Princes Street, where you will find lots of shops, the Gardens and the National Gallery of Scotland with its world class collection of paintings.

There is farmland three minutes walk away and Tower Farm Stables is a short drive. There are many golf courses in the area and there are public swimming pools near by too. The Pentland Hills are fifteen minutes by car.

The airport is about fifteen minutes away by taxi.

Half an hour drive takes you to the clean, sandy beaches of East Lothian and some of Scotland's world famous golf courses.
