Our home

Come and stay in our lovely eco house in the middle of open fields with far reaching views across the Ashdown Forest. We have completely renovated the house which has a modern extension with a well-equipped open-plan kitchen and dining area and panoramic windows opening to the garden and decking. There is a cosy living room with large corner sofa, hifi, TV, dvd etc and a woodburner.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one huge master double with large balcony, one normal double and one single with extra bed suitable for children. Also a nice bathroom with toilet, bath/shower, washbasin and bidet.

We have two cars and can arrange to car swap too if that suits.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a couple with two children aged ten and two. One of us works as a consultant and the other is an artist. We like travelling and love good food and comfortable living, and hope this is reflected in the style of our home.

We have two cats and share our large open garden with our neighbours, their dog and two children.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

We are surrounded by wonderful Sussex countryside and walks in the beautiful surroundings of the High Weald and the Ashdown Forest where Winnie the Pooh was based. There are many amazing historic gardens in the area which are a short drive away such as Standen, Wakehurst Place, Sheffield Park and Nymans. For art lovers we are also near Sissinghurst and Charleston where the Bloomsbury Set roamed. Historic Lewes is also less than half and hour away.

It's less than one hour by train into Central London for museums, shows and all of Londons historic places. Also less than one hour by car to the south coast beaches and cities such as bohemian Brighton which is a fun place to visit for a day trip (or two).

For sporty types, there is a large golf course nearby as well as mountain biking, fishing and walking.
