Our home

We live in a spacious (for London!) Victorian house with many original features including open fires. It has been updated throughout over the last two years. It has a secluded 75 ft garden in a quiet residential area with the local tennis club over the road on one side and the bowls club behind. There are 5 bedrooms, with four having double/king size beds and the fifth a cot bed (suitable up to 4/5 years of age) and a double sofa bed. There is a large family bathroom with a bath and walk in shower and an ensuite to the master bedroom and two further toilets. There is a large kitchen/dining area and a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Property features

Who we are

  1. We are a family of six, with three sons 20, 23 and 26 and 3 month old Sophie (no chance of getting spoilt!) My husband and I and two eldest sons are in the insurance business in the city of London with our youngest son still at Uni. We have only lived in London two years, but love it ? the accessibility to everything and the ability to get around without driving. With so many of us it is difficult to get away together because of the cost, and this way would be a perfect solution.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Our property is ideally placed to access central London within 20 to 30 mins, being within half a mile of three underground lines. It is also about 10 miles from Heathrow airport (and on the tube line from the airport)and the Eurostar, if further travel to say parts of Europe for a weekend is of interest. Whilst being that close to London it is also very green with a number of parks and gardens. It is also well placed to visit other places outside of London such as the university town of Oxford (50 mins by car), Stratford upon Avon (1 hour 40 by car). My husband also owns a 45 ft sailing yacht (2005 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey) which, if it is of interest we could book for you for free, as it is chartered out for some of the year, and provide a telephone number of a day skipper (approx £120 a day). The yacht sleeps eight in four cabins. The yacht is moored about 1 hour 45 mins from the house in Lymington, Hampshire. It is "coded" for commercial charter in the UK and is equipped with GPS, VHF radio, colour chart plotters, Radar, 2 X 6 man life raft, galley, fridge, TV, DVD, CD etc etc.
