Our home

Our house is a beautiful turn of the century Edwardian house with many period features. It has 5 bedrooms (4 generous double rooms and one single room we currently use as a study). It has 3 floors so there is a real feeling of space.
The kitchen has been renovated and is a large open plan area with a sofa and dinning table that seats 10 comfortably. We have a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. The sitting room has two large sofas and a fireplace that makes the house very cosy in the winter months. We have a lovely garden with decking perfect sipping wine on at the end of a long summers day! The house is a very versatile space being extremely warm and cosy in the winter months but spacious, cool and airy in the Summer months.
With 4 children between us the house is obviously very child friendly with lots of boys & girls toys. There are also skateboards, scooters and mountain bikes.

Who we are

  1. We are looking for a house swap in Dubai from January to March 2011 fro 3-4 weeks. We would also like a swap for the Summer to the South of France from June - September. We are very flexible and are happy to do non-simultaneuos exchanges. We frequently travel to Paris and so are happy to negotiate weekends and weeks whenever possible. However we are currently looking for a flat for 2 people from 29th Dec- 2nd ideally
We also have a large Charentais Farmhouse one hours drive from Bordeaux which we would be happy to include in the exchange. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a huge salon de sejour. TV, Dvd, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.
The house is 20mins from Royen (home the belle epoque art movement). The nearest airports are La Rochelle and Bordeaux.
It is 10mins from the nearest beach and the region's specialities include caviar, oysters, pineau and cognac. It is a ferry ride away from the Medoc region and all the big wine chateaus are within driving distance.

Where is it?

Your neighbourhood

Ealing is a very green and leafy place with a real "family" feel to it. Many people who work at the BBC or in the media or music industry move out to Ealing to start families as the schools are excellent here. Ealing Braodway has a good shopping centre with all the high street stores and that is only a 10min walk. If you are driving Ealing has easy access to the A40 (west), A4 & the M4.
Our house is a 5min walk from West Ealing train station which is 13min from Paddington and 20min from Oxford street in Central London.
There are a number of beautiful parks in the vacinity and it is a short drive 5 min drive from Richmond where there are a number of beautiful river walks.
There are also a number of historical houses in the area - Ham House, Syon house and Osterley Park.
Nottinghill, home to the infamous Portobello Market is 10minutes on the tube and all the museums (V&A, Natural History Museum & Science museum) in South Kensington are a 15min tube ride away.
